Farley in the News!
While busy at work, one of Farley's own 5th graders got a special holiday surprise from her brother, a specialist in the Army, who had been away for two years.
A special thanks to everyone involved for making this surprise possible.

English Language Celebration 2014

The James A. Farley Elementary School is proud of their English as a Second Language student’s accomplishments! They all worked hard for the 2013-2014 school year. This year, we recognize and celebrate those students who scored proficient on the 2014 NYSESLAT exam. They met the New York State exit Criteria and are now considered Proficient English Speakers. Congratulations to : Yoel Fana, Lindsey Llivisupa Tenecella, Jasmin Ramirez Ramos, Kenneth Sanchez Viracocha, Andy Vargas, Anthony Sanabria and Frida Vargas.

Farley's Secret Garden!
Last year, Mrs. Colligan's fourth graders transformed Farley's courtyard into a beautiful garden. Their hard work and dedication to this project has given everyone at Farley, students and faculty, a beautiful place to visit and learn. Farley's garden is used as a classroom to reconnect students with the natural world and to engage them in the process of formulating meaningful questions. Tending to our garden teaches our students responsibility and teamwork, while providing hands on learning in science, math, social studies and language arts.
